The perfect weekend in Galway this summer

If you are wondering where to go this summer, then pack your bags and head West – Galway City to be exact!.

We’ve gone and planned in your weekend already and it saves you the headache. Hope for sunshine but make sure to pack your umbrella!

Friday evening

Arrive at Woodquay hostel, we are a 10minute walk from Galway bus and train station. Drop your bags and unwind in our sociable common room. Whether you have come with family, friends our partner head over to Mcginns bar across the road for great pints and pizza. Ask at reception for our offers.

Saturday morning

 


Get up early and make sure you take advantage of our light breakfast and head to Corrib Tea Rooms for a hearty breakfast overlooking the River Corrib. Afterwards take in the Galway Cathedral and walk along the river until you arrive at Galway market – from fresh produce to locally made crafts, there’s something to interest everyone and the aroma wafting from the madras curry, Boychik donuts, Japanese sushi, and mouth-watering handmade cookies will leave you drooling. If you fancy a quick pint then pop into Tigh Neachtains – make sure to grab a spot outside for people watching.

 

Saturday evening & Sunday morning

For dinner, it’s gotta be Blakes on the corner, less than 5minute us. The menu features a range of daily specials including; tempting steak and seafood options, catering for a variety of dietary requirements. 

 

If you are in need of the Sunday cure, then make your way to the ! Serving all day breakfast, a pot of tea and you’ll be right as rain. Don’t leave our city without walking the Salthill prom. Grab a coffee to go and take in Galway bay views.
