At Woodquay Hostel we offer a take-away breakfast bag, which is full of goodies like freshly home baked scone or bread, fruit, Uisce (water) and either a hot tea or coffee. Or you can cook up a storm in our fully equipped kitchen. If you’re in the mood to check out the Galway brekkie scene we have the inside info on where to go…
Corrib Tea Rooms – 3 Waterside, Woodquay
Beautifully restored Georgian Townhouse located within 5mins walk to Woodquay Hostel. A favourite hangout for locals and tourists. The emphasis is on fresh, simple and local dishes at reasonable prices. My favourite is the buttermilk pancakes, perfect for a sweet tooth. Open every Saturday from 9.30am-4pm and Sundays from 10.30am-3pm.
Cellar Bar - 12 Eglinton Street
Hangover cure? The Cellar Bar is renowned for it’s all day breakfast and comfort food. The best place to visit after a big sesh and bonus it’s only a short stroll from Woodquay Hostel. Their full Irish brekkie is legendary.
Ground Coffee and Co - Atlantiquaria Toft Pak, Salthill
To eat in or take out, this is the perfect spot to start with before a long walk down the Salthill Promenade. Open 7 days a week with lots of brekkie options including smashed avo, creamy oats and lots of sweet pastries. Great food, great coffee and decent view over Galway bay!
Kai Cafe & Restaurant – 22 Sea Road
Sunday brekkie is so popular at the weekends that those in the know advise to get there early and be prepared to queue! But don’t let that put you off as once inside you will be rewarded with a delicious menu and there’s something on there for everyone.
Renzo Cafe – 32 Eyre Street
Renzo is an Italian style coffee shop located in the heart of Galway City. The perfect spot for brekkie to sit in or take away if you are on your way to Galway bus or train station or while you are exploring Galway City. Their menu is full to the brim offering croissants, poached eggs to Renzo oatmeal porridge! We have 10% off on all food/drink all day. Ask at reception for info.
